North Star is a relatively new company. All the planning to create it had to be done from the beginning, which means that we had to calculate hundreds of parameters legality, safety, location, equipment, marketing and general design. When we started with Andrea to talk about the company, all that we both had mature was an endless, incredible, inexhaustible and lasting love for Enduro.
Each one with his own views, with his own knowledge and skills, with its own separate business, its own problems, started erecting slowly what is now proud to be a comprehensive company. Since then my partner got down to set the endless track of our excursions, dedicated to Google Earth, maps and explore the trails on every occasion (I estimate that we rode around 20,000 km these two years) I started looking for which bikes would be suitable for this activity.
We both had our own problems with the companies, like any rider, so we experienced the good and bad in every distributor in Greece. At that time I had just given my two Husaberg FE 450, '05 and '08 tired of the incredible problems and the cost of the spare parts, having proper coverage by the distributor but not by my bikes of which I had been really tired ,I was left alone with the KTM EXC 450 05 which I bought first. I was thinking about 2chrono, asking for opinions from other companies, friends of the inside and outside, and flirting with Gasgas at all levels. A visit to the EICMA exhibition that year helped a bit to orient, while I conclude that in this work what one needs to do is go with the leader of space and we all know who that is.
It was then that along with Andrea lived the ultimate betrayal by the then administration of KTM. The story then from our perspective clearly reads, that with this DECLRATION Here, people of KTM gave a stimulus above to Andreas to win the league then, a KTM Super Enduro ,in which for the first time we ran he as a rider and I like sponsor. In each race, there was encouraging by them ,personally while in front of me were mentioned several times phrases like hey you Lucky you go for the Super Enduro and more. The costs of the race was covered 100% by my company and the result was actually tha Andreas was entitled to the prize at the end of this season. It was then the company reported that we should have been 10s model to apply to this offer, so he was not entitled. That was the end of our relationship with this company, while I threw away everything I had bought orange until then, including the EXC 450 '05 extremely pissed off. All subsequent discussions with the company had intended to make us stupid, because we do not know how to read and understand what is meant in its press releases. We did not continued the dispute, (even though the lawyers smiled rubbing their hands when I mentioned it), because in each case our goal was the championship, nor its trophy. It was our company and its future, so there had to dedicate ourselves there.
The days after rolled by with a lot of work, frustration, tension and stuff, but maenwhile the results were so encouraging that every day that passed our company was tranformed from dream to reality.
We started research of hotels in the region, offers, benefits, pricing discounts and other were overwhelming our days. Each region had its good, its bad, its people, its hotels, its characteristics, the difficulties and the amenities. The programs started slowly, be erected and we set about to crippling tests with friends and colleagues to simulate excursions with clients. In each path, footpath area points occurred where there was a mobile phone signal, came the repayment plan in case of a problem, found the health service provision for the unfortunate event of injury, there was communication with partners to insurance companies for the extra coverage and whole thing began to get a form. Of course there have been shortcomings and weaknesses but with the help and ideas of all they were overcome.
Legally, the company is a subsidiary of a medical equipment company I own in the city of Kavala with field activity-led tours and others. The legislative framework of this story is cloudy and naturally as a state there is no tolerance on the authorization and its carrier. The EOT(National organization of Tourism), even this impersonal and until our days meandering agency, is responsible licensing our company which was successfully after much work, fees and paperwork.
